It looks like CBS is looking to capitalise on the success of The Walking Dead with its own zombie thriller, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that the network is pairing up with Simon Barry (Continuum) to adapt Stefan Petrucha’s bestselling novel Dead Mann Walking.
The site reports that “the drama takes place in the near future, when a police detective who had been executed for murdering his wife takes a miracle drug and is brought back to life as a “second-class citizen” working as a private investigator while looking for his wife’s real killer.”
Barry is set to write the script for the pilot, as well as executive producing.
