Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse movie adaptation pushed back to October

April 23, 2020 by Ricky Church

The Michael B. Jordan-headlined adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse has joined the long list of films to be delayed due to the current health crisis, but unlike many of the films that have been pushed back into next year, Without Remorse’s delay is relatively minimal.

Without Remorse‘s original date was September 18th, but the film will now be released some two weeks later on October 2nd, which has previously held by Venom: Let There Be Carnage until Sony announced this week that it has delayed the Marvel sequel back to June of next year.

The Without Remorse novel details John Clark’s origins as he battled a drug cartel after the death of his girlfriend and was recruited to attempt a rescue of POWs. Formerly known as John Kelly, he was a Navy SEAL who got recruited into the CIA and later acted as Jack Ryan’s bodyguard. He would eventually go on to lead the international Rainbow Six counter-terrorism unit.

The Tom Clancy adaptation is directed by Stefano Sollima (Sicario: Day of the Soldado) from a script by Sicario’s Taylor Sheridan. Without Remorse is being produced by Paramount Pictures, who hope to turn Clark into a franchise with Rainbow Six as a sequel. Jordan is signed to reprise his role as Clark in Rainbow Six.

Without Remorse will also star Jamie Bell (Fantastic Four), Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim), Luke Mitchell (Blindspot), Jacob Scipio (Bad Boys for Life), Cam Gigandet (Ice), Jack Kesy (12 Strong) and Todd Lasance (Spartacus).
