Sebastian Stan would like to sink his teeth into Dracula role for Universal

April 29, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Marvel star Sebastian Stan is currently doing the promotional rounds for his new film Endings, Beginnings, and during a chat with THR, the actor has revealed that he’s keen on reuniting with his Destroyer director Karyn Kusama for the recently-announced Universal Monsters movie Dracula.

“I already emailed her about that,” said Stan when discussing the new Dracula project. “I said, ‘You know I’m from Romania, right?’ and she goes, “Yes, yes, it’s very early — and there’s a pandemic. Hopefully, we’ll see you in four years.'”

The new Dracula movie was announced back in March, and is described as a modern take on Bram Stoker’s iconic vampire. Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions is on board to produce, with Universal no doubt hoping he can reinvigorate the classic Monster property as he did earlier this year with The Invisible Man.

In addition to Dracula, Universal is also working on a number of other projects relating to its Classic Monster characters, including Paul Feig’s Dark Army, Dexter Fletcher’s Renfield, Elizabeth Banks’ The Invisible Woman, and an as-yet-untitled project from producer James Wan.
