Andrea Riseborough, Jon Hamm, Nicholas Hoult, Mackenzie Davis and more are the Alpha Gang

June 23, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Andrea Riseborough (The Grudge), Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: Apocalypse), Charlotte Gainsbourg (I Think We’re Alone Now), Mackenzie Davis (Terminator: Dark Fate), Sofia Boutella (The Mummy) and Steven Yuen (The Walking Dead) are set to star in Alpha Gang, Variety has revealed.

The sci-fi comedy film is being directed and produced by David and Nathan Zellner (Damsel), and “centers on aliens sent on a mission to conquer Earth. Armed and dangerous, they show no mercy — that is, of course, until they catch the human disease of emotion. Their plan for world domination is in danger of derailing once they start to feel joy, fear, empathy and love.”

“I’ve been wanting to make this film for a long time — a genre mashup of sci-fi, action and comedy,” said David Zellner, who has also written the script. “Nathan and I couldn’t be more excited about the incredible cast joining us for this wild ride.”

“Alpha Gang is a hilarious, fast-paced and highly commercial movie with a phenomenal A-list cast and is exactly the dose of humor that the market needs right now,” added Dave Bishop, CEO of Protagonist Pictures, who is handling sales of the film at this week’s Cannes virtual market.
