UK box office top ten and analysis for the weekend of Friday 6th November to Sunday 8th November 2015…
Spectre has wasted little time in overtaking Jurassic World to become the highest-grossing movie of the year at the UK box office, with 007’s 24th adventure posting a second weekend haul of £13.15 million to push its total gross to £63.97 million after just two weekends.
Spectre is currently ahead of Skyfall – the UK’s all-time highest-earner – which had pulled in £61.6 million from the same timeframe, but will soon face competition from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.
Still, even if it does manage to overtake Skyfall, it’s record will surely only last until the arrival of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in December…
With Spectre continuing to dominate the chart, three newcomers managed to crack the top ten, with Brooklyn opening in third with £1,041,278, followed by Burnt in fifth with £445,777 and Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse in eighth with £297,263.
