Spectre makes it three in a row at the UK box office

November 18, 2015 by Gary Collinson

UK box office top ten and analysis for the weekend of Friday 13th November to Sunday 15th November 2015…

Spectre has made it three weeks in a row atop the UK box office, with 007’s 24th outing pulling in £7.83 million over the Friday to Sunday period to push its total haul to £77.6 million.

Although its weekend declines are sharper than that of Skyfall, Spectre is still edging ahead of its predecessor, which had earned £77.3 million over the same time frame. However, Bond will face stiff competition this week from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, and will likely fall short of Skyfall’s UK record gross of £102.9 million.

In terms of newcomers, the Maggie Smith-headlined The Lady in the Van pulled in a solid £2,256,121 to open in second place, with Bollywood romantic drama Prem Ratan Dhan Payo claiming fourth place with £911,942, followed by Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs biopic in fifth with £903,214.

Incoming…

The Hunger Games franchise draws to a close tomorrow with the arrival of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, which will surely dethrone Bond at the top of the UK chart. Meanwhile, Friday’s new releases include The Dressmaker, The Perfect Guy, Momentum, Love, and documentaries Mr. Calzaghe and Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans.
