The Falcon and the Winter Soldier moves to 2021, new Bucky set photos emerge

September 23, 2020 by Amie Cranswick

This probably isn’t going to come as much of a surprise given that it has only just resumed production after shutting down for much of the year, but it seems that Disney+ has officially confirmed that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier won’t be arriving on the streaming service until 2021.

As reported by Comic Book, the Disney+ listing for the Marvel Studios series now lists it as “coming 2021”. The show, which sees Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprising their roles as Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, was originally slated to premiere in August, but had to halt filming in March with around three weeks of filming remaining.

Disney+ does still have one piece of new Marvel content incoming this year however in the Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany-led WandaVision, and this week brought us the official trailer for the series, which you can watch here.

Meanwhile, as shooting continues on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, some new set photos have surfaced online which show Sebastian Stan shooting scenes as Bucky in his updated costume; you can check those out via Twitter here…
