R.I.P. Jeremy Bulloch (1945 – 2020)

December 17, 2020 by Gary Collinson

English actor Jeremy Bulloch, the man responsible for bringing to life the iconic Star Wars bounty hunter Boba Fett, has passed away aged 75.

“We are very sad to announce the death of actor Jeremy Bulloch, earlier today,” reads a statement from Bulloch’s agency. “He died peacefully, in hospital, surrounded by his family, from health complications following his many years living with Parkinson’s disease. Jeremy was best known for the role of Boba Fett in the original Star Wars trilogy. He had a long and happy career spanning more than 45 years. He was devoted to his wife, three sons, and ten grandchildren and they will miss him terribly.”

Beginning his career as a child actor in the 1950s, Bulloch’s early credits included parts in the likes of The Devil’s Agent, Summer Holiday, Doctor Who and The Spy Who Loved Me before securing his most famous role – that of Boba Fett in 1980’s Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back. He would reprise the role for 1984’s Return of the Jedi, and returned to the galaxy far, far away in 2005’s Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith as Alderaanian pilot Captain Colton.

In later years, Bulloch became a much loved regular on the convention circuit, interacting with fans around the world until his retirement in 2018.
