Peacock shares first image and premiere date for Punky Brewster revival

January 6, 2021 by Gary Collinson

Streaming service Peacock has shared a first look cast photo from its upcoming continuation of the 80s sitcom Punky Brewster, which sees the return of original stars Soleil Moon Frye (Punky) and Cherie Johnson (Cherie).

In the revival of the iconic 80s sitcom about a bright young girl raised by a foster dad, Punky is now a single mother of three trying to get her life back on track when she meets Izzy (Quinn Copeland), a young girl in the foster system who reminds Punky a lot of her younger self.

Along with Soleil Moon Frye, Cherie Johnson and Quinn Copeland, the new series will also star Freddie Prinze Jr. as Travis, Punky’s ex-husband, Noah Cottrell as Diego, Oliver De Los Santos as Daniel, and Lauren Lindsey Donzis as Hannah.

The new Punky Brewster will hit Peacock on February 25th, while all episodes of the original series are available to stream now.
