Gotta slap ’em all with a brand new Asterix and Obelix game coming to PC and consoles this autumn

March 25, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Microids has announced that they will be releasing a brand-new adventure featuring the world’s favourite Gaulish warriors, Asterix and Obelix. Asterix & Obelix: Slap them All! will arrive this autumn on Xbox One, Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC as well as be backwards compatible on Xbox Series X/S and PS5.  Watch the new teaser trailer below…

Asterix & Obelix: Slap them All! is a 2D beat’em up set in the Asterix universe created by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo.  Travel to Gaul in 50 B.C., a time when the Roman empire’s power was at its peak.  Only one small village in Gaul holds out against the occupation and that is the home of our brave warriors Asterix and Obelix.

In this new adventure players will get to travel to the most iconic places from the comic book series and take on the rotten Roman legionaries, merciless pirates and the dreaded Normans.  All the core mechanics of beat ’em ups are there, see an enemy and give him a slap before he slaps you.  There will also be the chance to have a friend join in the fun in local co-op.

Developers, Mr Nutz Studio, have been as respectful to the original material as possible and have chosen an artistic direction very close to the comic book series, where characters and scenery are all hand drawn.

This autumn travel back to ancient Gaul with Asterix & Obelix: Slap them All! and take control of these legendary warriors (oh and also see the cute Dogmatix).
