Jimmi Simpson and Naomie Harris join The Man Who Fell to Earth

Deadline reports the that Showtime sci-fi series The Man Who Fell to Earth has added Jimmi Simpson (Westworld) and Naomie Harris (No Time To Die) to the cast. They will star alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor in the series.

The Man Who Fell To Earth follows “an alien who arrives on Earth at a turning point in human evolution and must confront his own past to determine our future.” The series is based on the novel by Walter Telvis as well as the 1976 cult film that starred David Bowie. Ejiofor will play the mysterious alien visitor.

Simpson will play Spencer Clay, “a CIA agent whose obsession with the alien’s true identity drives him to the edge of madness.” Harris plays Justin Falls, “a brilliant scientist and engineer.”

Star Trek: Discovery producers Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet co-writing and executive producing with Kurtzman also set to direct several episodes. Kurtzman and Lumet will showrun the series with John Hlavin, who is also serving as an executive producer with the pair. The Man Who Fell to Earth was previously set up for the Paramount+ streaming service, but was recently moved to Showtime instead.

“To be working with an actor of Naomie’s caliber is an absolute dream,” said Kurtzman, Lumet and Hlavin. “Her strength, her complexity and her bold artistic choices are an inspiration. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have her on board.”
