John Logan to make directorial debut with Blumhouse horror Whistler Camp

April 12, 2021 by Gary Collinson

Oscar-nominated screenwriter John Logan is set to make his directorial debut with Whistler Camp, a new horror film from Blumhouse Productions.

While specific details are being under wraps, the film is described as “a queer empowerment story set at a gay conversion camp.” Casting is underway, with Blumhouse’s Jason Blum producing alongside Michael Aguilar (Penny Dreadful, Kidding).

In addition to creating the Showtime series Penny Dreadful, Logan’s screenwriting credits include the likes of Skyfall, Spectre, Gladiator, The Aviator, Hugo, The Last Samurai, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Rango, Alien: Covenant and Any Given Sunday.
