Rust Console Edition launches on Xbox One and Playstation 4

May 22, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Indie developer Double Eleven has announced the launch of Rust Console Edition on Xbox One and Playstation 4.  This massively popular PC survival title will now drop console gamers in a large world of decaying structures where everything wants to kill them, including ever other player.  Accompanying the launch is a new trailer (see below) showcasing the brutal action that players can enjoy if they feel up to the challenge.

In Rust Console Edition players will wake up on a post-apocalyptic island where they will have to ensure they find enough food and water, battle the elements, create clothing and survive the hostile players, scientists and wildlife that constantly threaten them.  The islands are littered with dilapidated industrial structures but be wary of the hazards these can cause, some may be irradiated or just prove useful ambush points.

Players will start with nothing except for a rock and a torch and will be able to explore the environment to find and learn more blueprints that allow them to make new and higher-tier weapons, armour and equipment.  Seek out like-minded survivors (kill them or join them) and create a fortress to defend from hostile forces.

The world of Rust is one where survivors will always need to be on their toes, other players are free to be as deceptive and aggressive as they like and raiding and looting is commonplace.  However, with enough perseverance and plenty of fight, it is possible to rise to the top and build your own super fortress that you can defend with assault rifles and rocket launchers.

Rust Console Edition is available now on Xbox One and Playstation 4.
