The Pegasus Dream Tour brings the Paralympics to mobiles

June 24, 2021 by Andrew Newton

JP Games has announced the release of the first ever official game for the International Paralympic Committee, The Pegasus Dream Tour, on Android and iOS.  Set in the virtual city of Pegasus City, players will be able to create an avatar and take part in training and sports to help contribute to the growth of the city.  Watch the launch trailer below to see more of the activities taking place.

With The Pegasus Dream Tour visit Pegasus City and create an avatar called a ‘Mine’ based on your own image (even including prosthetics and wheelchairs) then roam around the city chatting with others from around the world.  Mines develop by the things they eat and drink and the training they do in gyms, all these help prepare players to take part in competitions or just watch as a spectator.

With today’s launch there are two sports available for players to participate in, boccia and the 100m sprint, however more sports such as wheelchair racing, five-a-side football and wheelchair basketball will be added over time.  Throughout the game players will encounter Japanese mascot Kumamom and nine real-life para-athletes through quests.

Players may also recognise Pegasus City’s deputy mayor, Doraemon, one of Japan’s most iconic characters.  This character from the future has brought with him several gadgets that help players.  These include – an Avatar Camera that takes a picture of the player and generates their Mine avatar and PEG (Personal Ecosystem Guide), a personal guide that will be assigned to each Mine avatar to help it progress in the game.

“I am honored to have been appointed as the ambassador for The Pegasus Dream Tour. As someone who enjoys games and an athlete as well, I look forward to this wonderful opportunity to experience the excitement of the Paralympics through gaming. I will also be appearing as a character in the game, and I hope to meet you in Pegasus City!” said Yuzuru Hanyu, Japan’s top figure skater.
