Ori: The Collection coming to Nintendo Switch this October

July 30, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Moon Studios and iam8bit have announced that for the first time ever, they will be releasing both of the beloved Ori titles in one package for the Nintendo Switch on 12th October.  Ori: The Collection will include both Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps and is available to preorder now.  To celebrate the announcement, a new trailer can be seen below showcasing the collection.

The first Ori title, Ori and the Blind Forest arrived in March 2015 and was met with overwhelming praise, awards and nominations for it’s soundtrack and the beautiful artwork, including Best Art Direction from The Game Awards and the DICE Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Original Composition, Art Direction and Animation..  This title told the story of a Guardian Spirit called Ori whose adoptive mother dies after a cataclysmic evil starts to kill off the forest of Nibel.  Ori eventually meets an orb called Sein and the pair set out on a journey to restore life to the forest by recovering the light of three main elements supporting the forest’s balance: Water, Wind and Warmth.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps then arrived 5 years later and again received praise and award nominations.  Taking place immediately after the events of the first game, Ori and the Will of the Wisps takes players out of the relative safety of Nibel into the forest of Nirwen where a terrible storm causes all manner of problems.

Look out for Ori: The Collection arriving on Nintendo Switch on 12th October.  The Collection will include the digital soundtracks for both games as well as six collectible art cards.
