The 2022 awards season is already heating up, and each week leading up to the big award shows, we’ll be diving into the big contenders on the road to the Oscars.

Belfast is a 2021 coming-of-age comedy-drama film written and directed by Kenneth Branagh. The film stars Caitríona Balfe, Judi Dench, Jamie Dornan, Ciarán Hinds, Colin Morgan, and newcomer Jude Hill.  

Spencer is a 2021 biographical psychological drama film directed by Pablo Larraín and written by Steven Knight. The film stars Kristen Stewart, Timothy Spall, Sean Harris, and Sally Hawkins. .

Belfast was released on 12 November 2021 through Focus Features in the United States and opens on 25 February 2022 in the United Kingdom through Universal Pictures. Spencer was theatrically released in the United Kingdom and the United States on 5 November 2021.
