Jack Black and Kung Fu Panda return for new Netflix series The Dragon Knight

March 16, 2022 by EJ Moreno

As odd as it sounds, National Panda Day is the perfect day to bring back a beloved animated character. Taking to his official Tik Tok account, Jack Black has announced that he will be reprising his role as the Kung Fu Panda, Po, with the Dreamworks character returning in the new Netflix series Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight.

Kung Fu Panda started in 2008 with an animated film that spawned two sequels in 2011 and 2016. The franchise already ventured into the world of animated series… twice… with Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness on Nickelodeon and Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny on Amazon Prime.

In both series, Mick Wingert voiced the role of Po. Netflix’s Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight will mark Jack Black’s first time voicing the character for the small screen. As the press release stated, this news will indeed cause PANDA-MONIUM!

Check out some of the first look photos here…

Jack Black returns to KUNG FU PANDA in the new series KUNG FU PANDA: THE DRAGON KNIGHT. When a mysterious pair of weasels set their sights on a collection of four powerful weapons, Po must leave his home to embark on a globe-trotting quest for redemption and justice that finds him partnered up with a no-nonsense English knight named Wandering Blade. Together, these two mismatched warriors set out on an epic adventure to find the magical weapons first and save the world from destruction — and they may even learn a thing or two from each other along the way.
