Ahead of its theatrical release next month, it has been announced that The Northman – the latest feature film from The Witch and The Lighthouse director Robert Eggers – has received an expected R-rating from the MPA for “strong bloody violence, some sexual content and nudity.”
The Northman is described as “an epic revenge thriller, that explores how far a Viking prince will go to seek justice for his murdered father.”
The hotly-anticipated film features a cast that includes Nicole Kidman, Alexander Skarsgård, Willem Dafoe, Ethan Hawke, Björk, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Ralph Ineson.
