Alison Pill and Sarah Gadon star in All My Puny Sorrows trailer

March 31, 2022 by Ricky Church

The trailer for Michael McGowan’s drama All My Puny Sorrows starring Alison Pill (Star Trek: Picard) and Sarah Gadon (True Detective) has been released. Watch the trailer below…

All My Puny Sorrows is an adaptation of the 2014 bestseller Miriam Toews which follows the journeys of two sisters as one decides to end her life and the other must come to terms with their decision.

The film also stars Amybeth Mcnulty (Anne with an E) Donal Logue (Gotham), Mare Winningham (Dopesick) and Aly Mawji (Silicon Valley). McGowan also wrote the script and serves as a producer with Patrice Theroux, Tyler Levine and Katelyn Cursio.

All My Puny Sorrows premiered at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival with Mongrel Media distributing the film. It has already been the recipient of several awards from the Vancouver Film Critics Circle Awards and the Directors Guild of Canada as well as being nominated for many categories at the Canadian Screen Awards.

Based on Miriam Toews’ best-selling novel, All My Puny Sorrows unexpectedly infuses wry humor into this heart-wrenching story of two loving sisters: one a gifted pianist (Sarah Gadon) obsessed with ending her life the other a struggling writer (Alison Pill) who in wrestling with this decision, makes profound discoveries about herself.

All My Puny Sorrows will be released May 3rd in theatres, on demand and digitally.
