Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse teased at CinemaCon, rave reviews for first fifteen minutes shown

April 26, 2022 by EJ Moreno

Even with its recent release schedule changing, no one can stop the hype for Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. With new footage and some new behind-the-scenes news, the hype train is picking up even more steam.

During the CinemaCon event, Sony debuted a new look at the Spider-Verse sequel. Reports say the film will be massive, with over 240 characters involved. Sources also note that Across The Spider-Verse will take place in over six universes. “The sequel is way, way bigger than the last one. It’s the largest crew of an animated movie ever,” says Chris Miller.

During the event, fans were also allowed to see the film’s first fifteen minutes. While it was noted that the footage isn’t complete yet, that didn’t stop people from going wild.

Twitter user Erik Davis took to his page to let fans know what happened in the footage. From what Davis notes, we start in Spider-Gwen’s universe. Gwen is facing off Vulture until she’s joined by Oscar Isaac’s Miguel O’Hara & Issa Rae’s Jessica Drew. Davis also notes that Jessica Drew is pregnant and still kicking ass. Other people in attendance called the footage stellar and noted it’s an early contender for the Academy Awards.

Check out the tweet below:

WOW! The first 15 minutes of #AcrossTheSpiderVerse is AMAZING! Opens w/ an insane fight against Vulture in Spider-Gwen’s universe. She is joined by Oscar Isaac’s Miguel O’Hara & Issa Rae’s Jessica Drew, who is 5 months pregnant and kicking ass. Looks so good, folks #CinemaCon pic.twitter.com/tVdPn106KB
