Mike Myers teases that Austin Powers 4 could be in the works

May 5, 2022 by Ricky Church

It has been nearly 20 years since international man of mystery Austin Powers has graced the big screen, but series star and creator Mike Myers has teased Austin Powers 4 could be in the works.

Over the last few years Myers has made comments about wanting to do a fourth instalment of the comedy franchise, continually teasing he was working on a new idea.

In an interview with Sirius XM’s Jess Cage and Julia Cunningham, Myers was asked about the potential future of the franchise given his past comments and whether or not Austin Powers 4 could be a reality. Myers played coy, telling the hosts  “I can neither confirm nor deny the existence or non-existence of such a project, should it exist or not exist.”

When pressed about the ambiguous nature of his response, wondering if there was a forthcoming announcement for Austin Powers 4, Myers continued to be coy by replying it “was a non-confirmed confirmation confirmation.”

Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery was first released in 1997 where Myers played both Austin Powers and his archenemy Dr. Evil. The film was a huge success and garnered two sequels, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Austin Powers in Goldmember where Myers played the additional roles of Fat Bastard and Goldmember. The films also featured Elizabeth Hurley, Heather Graham, Seth Green, Robert Wagner, Rob Lowe, Verne Troyer, Mindy Sterling, Michael York, Beyonce and Michael Caine.
