First look at Kim Cattrall and Juliette Lewis in Queer As Folk reboot

May 13, 2022 by EJ Moreno

Queer as Folk makes its return to pop culture this Pride Month, and it’s bringing along some of the most fabulous actresses working. In these new images from the upcoming Peacock reboot, we see Kim Cattrall and Juliette Lewis debuting in the series.

Queer As Folk moves to show from the original setting in Pittsburgh to New Orleans and will follow a group of friends as they navigate life after a tragedy. It’s been heavily suggested that the series will be inspired by the Pulse Nightclub Shootings that took the lives of 49 people and injured over 50. This series will introduce us to Devin Way as Brodie, Fin Argu as Mingus, Jesse James Keitel as Ruthie, CG as Shar, Johnny Sibilly as Noah, and Ryan O’Connell as Julian

Previewed in Entertainment Weekly, we meet Kim Cattrall as Brenda, a martini-soaked, high society southern debutant with trailer park roots. Brenda is the adoptive mother of Ryan O’Connell’s Julian, a “pop culture nerd with cerebral palsy who is more than ready for some independence,” as well as Devin Way’s Brodie, the “charming and sometimes chaotic commitment-phobe who finds a reason to stay in New Orleans after tragedy rocks his community.”

Juliette Lewis plays Judy, a single mom who is more of a friend than a parent to her teenager. She’s described as “a single mom who is more of a friend than a parent to her teenager” Mingus (Fin Argus), a cocky high schooler whose confidence belies their lack of real-world experience.

QUEER AS FOLK  is a vibrant reimagining of the groundbreaking British series created by Russell T. Davies, exploring a diverse group of friends in New Orleans whose lives are transformed in the aftermath of a tragedy.

Queer As Folk stars Devin Way, Fin Argus, Jesse James Keitel, CG, Johnny Sibilly, and Ryan O’Connell and premieres on Peacock on June 9th, 2022.
