New update for World of Warships brings third Transformers collaboration and lots more

June 17, 2022 by Andrew Newton

World of Warships developer Wargaming has released the latest content update bringing a brand new map, the Convoy battle type, lots of visual improvements and the third instalment of the Transformers collaboration.  Dasha Perova introduces update 0.11.5 in the new video below….

The third outing for Transformers brings more special camouflages to players.  Originally only released on World of Warships Legends, these camouflages include the likes of Iowa’s Freedom Fighter skin representing the Autobots while the Bismarck’s Messenger of Oblivion sends its support for the Decepticons.

Update 0.11.5 sees the arrival of the new Faroe Islands map.  This map was selected by players last Autumn as the next playable location and is designed for Tier VII-X ships and superships.  Set in the North Atlantic ocean, players will battle to scenery filled with snow covered mountain ranges.

Ship commanders can rejoice as this latest update sees the return of the Convoy battle type that was popular in Update 0.10.8.  This mode will see teams of 12 Tier VIII–X ships participate in an attack-and-defend battle across one of six different maps. Defenders will defend two to three Convoys of AI-controlled cargo ships while it is up to attackers to ensure none of them reach their destination.

Finally, the update sees yet more graphical improvements with U.S Destroyers getting a revamp.  A number of original U.S Destroyers that have been available since the game’s release have been dramatically upgraded with slight changes to their physical parameters and balance characteristics.  The improved vessels in this update include Mahan, Benson, Fletcher and Gearing, while in the next update players can expect to see the Sampson, Wickes, Clemson, Nicholas, Farragut and Sims looking much better.

As well as improvements to the U.S Destroyers there have been major improvements to HD textures and local weather effects across 8 maps.  There’s also been new effects for guns firing, depth charges detonating and aircraft explosions on destroyed carriers.

Log in to World of Warships now to take part in exciting naval battles.
