Po and the Furious Five to return as Kung Fu Panda 4 sets 2024 release date

August 15, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

Universal Pictures has summoned Po and the Furious Five to save the world once again by announcing that Kung Fu Panda 4 will be released on March 8th, 2024.

Jack Black’s furry Kung Fu master has kicked his way towards over $1.8 billion at the worldwide box-office since 2008’s original, so it comes as no surprise that after eight years of training with the Furious Five, one of DreamWorks Animation’s most successful franchises would return to the big-screen.

Spawning countless spin-offs and videogames, the last Kung Fu Panda movie was released in 2016, and grossed $521M globally. Proof that the appetite for the franchise remains as large as that of its titular character.

There’s no word yet as to whether any of the original cast of Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen, or Lucy Liu will reprise their roles, but considering Black voiced Po in Netflix’s recent animated series Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight, you’d be very surprised if he didn’t, and that the other members of the Furious Five would soon follow.
