J.J. Abrams says whoever is cast as young Han Solo should watch Raiders of the Lost Ark

January 14, 2016 by Robert Kojder

Casting for the Han Solo spin-off movie was shortened down to just 12 names this week from an original list of 2,500 actors. The hot rumour at the moment is that Disney are looking to fast-track the casting for a potential cameo in the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams is serving as an executive producer on the project, but it seems that he has no control over who will be taking on the role.

“I wish I had something to say, but I don’t,” he told Variety when they asked him about casting. “I haven’t turned my attention to that.”

Abrams then gave jokingly some advice for the lucky winner: “Watch Raiders of the Lost Ark. It’ll all be right there.”
