Stranger Things’ Shawn Levy in talks to direct a Star Wars movie

November 8, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

Following the recent small-screen success of Obi-Wan and Andor it appears Lucasfilm are expanding the four corners of their Star Wars galaxy back onto the big-screen once again with the news that Stranger Things and Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy is in talks to direct his own Star Wars movie.

Deadline reports that Levy is in discussions to come aboard to develop and then direct a Star Wars film, with the intention of getting underway once he completes Deadpool 3 and wraps up his duties on the final season of Stranger Things.

The news follows hot on the heels of Ms Marvel’s Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy being announced as the director of Damon Lindelof’s secret Star Wars film and adds to a current slate of Star Wars projects floating in the ether that includes Rian Johnson’s proposed trilogy, Taika Waititi’s  outing, a Kevin Feige-produced film and Patty Jenkins’ indefinitely delayed Rogue Squadron.
