Ilfenesh Hadera to play Dwayne Johnson’s love-interest in Baywatch, release date set

January 21, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Dwayne Johnson has taken to Instagram to announce that Ilfenesh Hadera (Billions) has joined the cast of the upcoming Baywatch movie, where she’ll play his love interest, Stef.

“For our coveted role of Stef, she had to be a lot of things: Strong, intelligent, formidable, beautiful and funny,” states Johnson. “Want to welcome the talented Ilfenesh Hadera Hadera to our Baywatch family. She’s a 5’11 walkin’ smokestack with legs for days. Smart and tougher than new rope.. just the way we like ’em. And seeing as she’s playing my love interest – my strong calloused hands are the ONLY HANDS allowed to rub suntan oil on her soft supple skin.”

Johnson also promised some further casting announcements in the coming weeks, while Paramount Pictures has announced that the film will hit cinemas on May 19th, 2017 – a date previously occupied by the Terminator Genisys sequel, which Paramount has now pulled from its schedule.

Baywatch is being directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) and sees Dwayne Johnson (Fast & Furious 7) leading a cast that also includes Zac Efron (Dirty Grandpa), Alexandra Daddario (San Andreas), Kelly Rohrbach (Two and a Half Men) and Priyanka Chopra (Quantico).
