Paramount orders second season of Yellowstone prequel 1923

February 3, 2023 by Ricky Church

It looks like Yellowstone fans are going to see more of Jacob and Cara Dutton as Paramount has ordered a second season of the prequel 1923 just as it will return with the rest of season one this Sunday.

1923  follows Harrison Ford’s family patriarch Jacob and his gun-toting wife Cara, played by Helen Mirren, as they settle at Yellowstone, only to be faced with the challenges of an era dominated by prohibition, pandemic, historic drought, and the looming inevitability of the Great Depression.

There are more stories to tell… #1923TV will return for a second season. In the meantime, Season 1 continues with new episodes this Sunday, exclusively on #ParamountPlus. See you soon. pic.twitter.com/O2bMWKdTYx

Rounding up an impressive cast that includes Sebastian Roché, Jerome Flynn, Darren Mann, James Badge Dale, Michelle Randolph, Marley Shelton, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, Julia Schlaepfer, Jennifer Ehle, Brandon Sklenar, and Robert Patrick,

1923, the next installment of the Dutton family origin story, will introduce a new generation of Duttons led by patriarch Jacob (Ford) and matriarch Cara (Mirren). The series will explore the early twentieth century when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition and the Great Depression all plague the mountain west, and the Duttons who call it home.

1923 will return on Paramount+ this Sunday, February 5th.
