Mia Goth joins Marvel Studios’ Blade alongside Mahershala Ali

April 13, 2023 by EJ Moreno

Mia Goth makes her move to a big studio picture after years of being the indie darling as Deadline reports Goth will star in Blade, the upcoming action-vampire film coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Mahershala Ali is set to star as the titular Blade, but there’s no news on who Mia Goth will play, and Marvel Studios is yet to confirm the casting.

Goth is best known for her work in horror films like Ti West’s X and its prequel Pearl but recently starred in this year’s shocking arthouse film Infinity Pool. Goth just began production on the third film in the Ti West X trilogy, MaXXXine.

Marvel’s Blade will introduce Ali to the MCU as he steps into the shoes of Wesley Snipes as Eric Brooks, a dhampir whose mother was bitten and killed by a vampire while giving birth to him and who now stalks and hunts the vampire community as the Daywalker.

Yann Demange (White Boy Rick) will direct Blade from a script by Michael Starrbury and Kevin Feige producing. Little is known about the plot at this time but the cast so far includes Mahershala Ali, Delroy Lindo, Aaron Pierre and Mia Goth.

Blade is  set for release on September 6th, 2024.
