Disney’s Bob Iger says Marvel movies “will go on forever”, more Star Wars after Episode IX

January 27, 2016 by Gary Collinson

If you’re a Marvel and / or Star Wars fan and somewhat concerned that Disney could bring the curtain down on your favourite franchise after Infinity War or the conclusion of the Sequel Trilogy then fear no more, as Disney chairman Bob Iger has confirmed that won’t be the case.

“Marvel, you’re dealing with thousands and thousands of characters – that will go on forever,” said Iger in an interview with Newsbeat, before turning his attention to the galaxy far, far away and adding that: “There will be more after [the already announced Star Wars movies]. I don’t know how many, I don’t know how often.”

Judging by the box office success of Marvel and Star Wars, the logical answer seems to be “very many, very often”.
