Dolph Lundgren set to join Netflix’s The Witcher spin-off

May 27, 2023 by EJ Moreno

From boxers to witches, Dolph Lundgren will take on any foe and there are new reports that Lundgren will star in the upcoming Netflix spin-off series based on The Witcher.

This report comes from the Swedish outlet Aftonbladet. In the article, the actor notes he’s currently in South Africa to shoot this spin-off. There’s been no confirmation on his role, but many have begun to speculate that he’ll play bounty hunter Leo Bonhart, serving as the villain for the spin-off.

For this spin-off, the story will focus on a group of young thieves known as the ‘Rats.’ This will serve as a prequel to The Witcher, as they’ll debut in the show’s upcoming third season based on the book “Time of Contempt.” With this role, we could also see Lundgren appear in future seasons of the main show.

For The Witcher Season 3, it will be the last time Henry Cavill will play Geralt of Rivia as Liam Hemsworth will take on the role for the show’s fourth season.

We’ll next see Dolph Lundgren appear in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, headed to cinemas this December. He’ll also appear in The Expendables 4 this fall.

The Witcher Season 3 Volume 1 will premiere on June 29th, with Volume 2 on July 27th.
