Feline samurai visual novel Kittengumi: The Sakabato’s Thief coming soon

If you love cats and samurai warriors then Kittengumi: The Sakabato’s Thief is the game for you.  This visual novel , developed by Guarida Games Studio, features adorable hand-drawn cats as the protagonists of a classic Japanese narrative.  Publisher Gammera Nest will be releasing this title soon on the Playstation Store, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and Epic Games.

This first instalment of the visual novel will have players making decisions for a dedicated team of anthropomorphic cats as they investigate theft of the emblematic Sakabato sword.  The story itself is inspired by the Shinsengumi, which were a special force of samurai set up by the last shogunate of Japan.

The story takes place in the city of Nyedo in faraway Gapon and the Kittengumi are out in force after their precious Sakabato sword is stolen.  This is a huge disgrace for the clan and they must reclaim it at all costs.  The player, alongside young Ryuudama, the ninja Azuki and Kumaneko, the panda that thinks he’s a cat, will overcome many challenges to discover who the thief was.
