Yu Suzuki’s 3D shooting adventure Air Twister coming to consoles later this year

June 28, 2023 by Andrew Newton

Many of us have grown up playing games developed by Yu Suzuki, the legendary game designer responsible for such great games as Space Harrier, After Burner, Outrun and Power Drift back in the 80s, as well as the likes of Virtua Fighter in the 90s and of course the Shenmue series.  Well, on 10th November he will be back on modern consoles with his anticipated 3D shooting adventure game, Air Twister.

In Air Twister, take the role of Princess Arch and embark on an epic quest to save her planet from destruction at the hands of bizarre and heavily armed invaders.  There are more than 20 unique enemy types and ten epic bosses to encounter and destroy as the Princess journeys through twelve beautifully designed stages.

There are a variety of upgrades, gear and weapons to unlock as players progress and there are also a number of different winged creatures that can be summoned to help, including a winged elephant (I kid you not, watch the trailer below).

To accompany players on the quest is an epic musical score by Valensia that will fill you with a sense of nostalgia and give you a one-of-a-kind gaming adventure.

Air Twister features:

  • 12 beautifully crafted stages that provide new experiences each time you play.
  • Over 20 Vanguard enemies and 10 unique bosses to challenge your skill.
  • An epic soundtrack by Dutch composer Valensia.
  • Different game modes, including Arcade, Turbo, Boss Rush plus more.
  • Many different minigames with elements of surprise.

Air Twister will be available in both physical and digital formats for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 & 5 and digitally only on Xbox and PC on 10th November.  Pre-orders will begin on 18th July.
