Netflix and Warner Bros. Television have officially announced that the streaming sevrice is set to revive Gilmore Girls for a new four-part series tentatively titled Gilmore Girls: Seasons, which will reunite creator Amy Sherman-Palladino with cast members Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson.
According to TV Line, Seasons take place roughly eight years after the original series ended on The CW, and will run for four 90-minute episodes, with each presenting a different season of the year. Sherman-Palladino and her husband and Gilmore Girls executive producer Daniel Palladino are set to write and direct all four episodes, and production will get underway on Monday.
Gilmore Girls premiered on The WB in 2000 and ran for 153 episodes across seven seasons, although Sherman-Palladino was not involved in the final season, having exited following a contract dispute.
