Gal Gadot reveals she’s developing Wonder Woman 3 with DC Studios

August 2, 2023 by Matt Rodgers

We’ve been waiting for someone to throw the lasso of truth around the future of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman for a while now, what with her post-Wonder Woman 3 cancellation cameos in Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash. Well, now Princess Diana of Themyscira herself has confirmed that she is going to be working on a third outing with DC’s new head honchos, James Gunn and Peter Safran.

Gadot was doing the rounds for her Netflix espionage-actioner Heart of Stone when she told comicbook.com that “I love portraying Wonder Woman. It’s so close to and dear to my heart, and from what I heard from James and Peter is that we’re going to develop a Wonder Woman 3 together”.

When Peter Safran and James Gunn took over as the creative forces reshaping the future of the DCEU, Gadot’s Wonder Woman appeared to be one of the most high-profile casualties of the restructure. Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 3 was quickly shelved, and the character was nowhere to be seen in the studio’s announcement of the Gods and Monsters phase of this new cinematic universe, although a prequel series – Paradise Lost – would explore Themiscyra prior to the events of Wonder Woman.

Gadot had previously hinted that her tenure as Wonder Woman wasn’t over, and that we’d know about it “once the right moment arrives”, and it appears that time is now.  Let us know what you think of Gadot retaining the role of Wonder Woman by heading to our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
