Ezra Miller has been recast in Invincible season 2

March 31, 2024 by Ricky Church

While Invincible has returned for the second half of its second season, it latest episode has revealed one cast member has not come back. The Flash star Ezra Miller has been replaced for season two by X-Men ’97‘s Eric Bauza.

Miller starred in season one of Invincible as D.A. Sinclair, a genius who was revealed to be turning people into cyborgs in an effort to improve and strengthen humanity. Sinclair was defeated by Invincible and his team and made his return in the series’ March 28th episode ‘I’m Not Going Anywhere’ where Bauza made his debut in the role.

No reason has been given by Amazon Studios or the Invincible team for the recast, but it is likely due to the many controversies and legal problems Miller has found themselves in over the last few years. In 2020 a video surfaced of them seemingly choking a female fan, in 2022 they were arrested twice while staying in Hawaii for harassment and assault and they were charged with breaking and entering and theft into their neighbour’s home among other scandals.

Aside from his role as The Flash in the DC Extended Universe, Miller is also known for the Harry Potter prequel series Fantastic Beasts and The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

The next episode of Invincible to air will be its second season finale on April 4th.

Based on the groundbreaking comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, the story revolves around 18-year-old Mark Grayson, who’s just like every other guy his age—except his father is (or was) the most powerful superhero on the planet. Still reeling from Nolan’s betrayal in Season 1, Mark struggles to rebuild his life as he faces a host of new threats, all while battling his greatest fear – that he might become his father without even knowing it.

Invincible features the voice talents of Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, Zazie Beetz, Grey DeLisle, Chris Diamantopoulos, Walton Goggins, Gillian Jacobs, Jason Mantzoukas, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, Zachary Quinto, Andrew Rannells, Kevin Michael Richardson, Seth Rogen, and J.K. Simmons. Joining the cast for season 2 are Sterling K. Brown, Peter Cullen, Rob Delaney, Calista Flockhart, Phil LaMarr, Luke MacFarlane, Tatiana Maslany, Scott McNairy, Jay Pharoah, Ella Purnell, Tim Robinson, Ben Schwartz, Rhea Seehorn, Lea Thompson, Paul F. Tompkins, and Shantel VanSanten.
