Sovereign has shared a poster and trailer for the UK release of director Christopher Murray’s folk horror Sorcery.
Based on the 19th century witchcraft trials in Chile, the film follows Rosa (Valentina Véliz Caileo), a young woman who turns to a powerful organisation of sorcerers to use otherworldly powers to avenge the death of her father after he was brutally killed. Watch the trailer below…
On the remote island of Chiloé in the late 19th century, an Indigenous girl named Rosa lives and works with her father on a farm. When the foreman brutally turns on Rosa’s father, she sets out for justice, seeking help from the king of a powerful organisation of sorcerers.
Featuring in the cast of Sorcery are Valentina Véliz Caileo, Daniel Antivilo, Daniel Muñoz, and Sebastian Hülk.
Sorcery arrives in UK cinemas on June 14th.
