Owlcat Games has announced the first DLC expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader will be arriving on all platforms on the 8th August. Void Shadows promises to add hours of new content, including a new companion, a fearsome new enemy, new locations and more. Watch the new teaser trailer below….
Void Shadows will provide an additional 15 hours (roughly) of gameplay that will provide new quests, new crew and a new story that will send players into the bowels of their Voidship to battle against the terrifying Genestealer Cult that threatens to ruin the Von Valancius dynasty. The Genestealer Cult is a terrifying breed of xeno-worshipping half-breeds that will attempt to infect the crew with their genetic code to convert them to their insidious goal of corrupting the dynasty.
The addition of the Genestealer Cult storyline will require players to interact with more crew members and new high-level officers that are vital to the ship’s operation have been added. Thanks to the new quests, there will also be new locations to explore within the Voidship that no Lord Captain has ever explored before. Talking about locations on the ship, it will also be possible to upgrade the ship with a new hangar, capable of launching groups of fighters and bombers for massive space battles.
This new DLC will give players the chance to gain the loyalty of Kibellah, a Death Cult Assassin. Kibellah will pledge her life to the service of the Von Valancius dynasty just as her predecessors have done for countless generations before her. There will also be the option to form a romance with her.
