Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga to gets its own Black & Chrome version

May 29, 2024 by EJ Moreno

George Miller likes to keep things interesting, and he’s returning to one of his most innovative ideas as the filmmaker is looking to turn cinematographer Simon Duggan’s work into a monochrome masterpiece with a new black-and-white version of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.

Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Miller reveals the plans for the new version, stating:

“We’ve done it already. It’s the last thing I did on this film, and I call it ‘Tinted Black & Chrome,’ or I want to call it Tinted Black & Chrome. “I must say, it’s really interesting. I’m still trying to demystify why the black and white, for me, has something more elemental to it. I still can’t quite put my finger on it. It’s not because they look like old black-and-white movies; it’s something else. It’s like if we took a picture of ourselves right now, it might look a little more dramatic if it was black and white.”

George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road also saw a Black and Chrome edition released in 2017. Let us know on our socials @FlickeringMyth if you’re excited to see Furiosa receiving the same treatment…

As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus.  Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.

Directed by George Miller and starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Alyla Browne, Nathan Jones, Angus Sampson, Quaden Bayles, Danile Webber, and Lachy Hulme.

Furiosa is in cinemas now.
