IllFonic’s 3v7 asymmetric multiplayer horror game Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game has today launched on Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam. The game is based on MGM’s iconic 80’s movie and had the support of the original creators, the Chiodo Bros, to ensure that fans of the IP would get a true Killer Klowns experience. In Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game, players take either the role of one of the 3 Killer Klowns or as one of 7 surviving humans of Crescent Cove (the setting for the film). Taking the role of the Klowns, tasks players to use their otherworldy abilities and crazy weaponry to hunt down the humans and harvest them for nutrients. However, as the hunted humans, players can choose to hide from the Klowns or explore the maps for valuable loot and weapons and take the fight back to the aggressors.
There are five different maps set within the backdrop of Crescent Cove, all of which have been inspired by locations from the film and fans of the IP may notice many easter eggs cleverly placed throughout the game, including an inconspicuous ice cream van. Players may also notice Klown tricks and weaponry to Human customisations inspired by the film.
A deluxe edition of Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game is also available and includes: 2 Human Costumes, 2 Klown Skins, 1 Movie Klown Skin, digital soundtrack and a digital artbook.
