Erin Kellyman joins 28 Years Later

June 10, 2024 by Ricky Church

We have another actor joining Danny Boyle’s anticipated sequel 28 Years Later as, per Deadline, Erin Kellyman (Falcon & The Winter Soldier) will star in the film.

Kellyman joins a cast that includes Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes and Jack O’Connell. Boyle, who directed 28 Days Later in 2002, returns to the directors chair with a script by the franchise’s original writer and Annihilation and Civil War writer/director Alex Garland.

28 Days Later followed a man (Cillian Murphy) who came out of a coma to a world ravaged by rabid zombies. The sequel 28 Weeks Later was made in 2007, though neither Boyle or Garland worked on that film beyond being listed as executive producers.

A sequel to 28 Years Later is already in development, with Nia DaCosta stepping into the director’s chair. The reported plan is to develop a new trilogy with 28 Years Later the first of three and filming it and its sequel back-to-back.

Kellyman is known for her roles in Solo: A Star Wars Story, Willow and Falcon & The Winter Soldier. She’ll be seen next in Scarlett Johansson’s directorial debut Eleanor the Great and the Apple TV+ series Blitz.

28 Weeks Later will be released on June 25th, 2025.
