Netflix drama Sirens casts Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy, Milly Alcock, Kevin Bacon and Glenn Howerton

July 4, 2024 by Ricky Church

Netflix has just landed a big amount of talent for its upcoming limited drama series Sirens. Created, written and showrun by Molly Smith Metzler (Maid), the series will star Julianne Moore (May December), Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus), Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon), Kevin Bacon (City on a Hill) and Glenn Howerton (It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia).

Sirens follows “Devon, who thinks her sister Simone has a really creepy relationship with her new boss, the enigmatic socialite Michaela Kell. Michaela’s cult-ish life of luxury is like a drug to Simone, and Devon has decided it’s time for an intervention. When Devon tracks her sister down to say WTF, she has no idea what a formidable opponent Michaela will be. Told over the course of one explosive weekend at The Kells’ lavish beach estate, the show is billed as an incisive, sexy, and darkly funny exploration of women, power, and class.”

Fahy plays Devon DeWitt, a woman who is “on a downward spiral back in her hometown. She is funny, resilient, and fiercely protective — especially of her younger sister Simone.” Alock will play Simone, who is described as “sharp and charming, Simone has hit the jackpot working as a personal assistant to a billionaire.”

Moore will be the charismatic Michaela Kell, “a philanthropist and animal activist who runs island high society and is the wife to billionaire Peter Kell. Her relationship with her assistant, Simone, seems too close for comfort.”

Bacon is Peter Kell, Michaela’s husband who “comes from an old money family and is the highest-status person in every room he enters. He’s an avid outdoorsman who enjoys the occasional joint.”

Howerton will play Ethan Corbin II, “a dear friend of the Kells and lifelong bachelor who lives next door. He’s a regular at the yacht club and he’s rapidly burning through his trust fund.”

Sirens is adapted from Metzler’s stage play Elemeno Pea. Metzler will executive produce through Quiet Coyote with Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap also producing. Robbie will executive produce with Dani Gorin and Tom Ackerley. Nicole Kassell (Watchmen) will direct the first two episodes and serve as an executive producer.
