Ryan Murphy’s American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez gets a trailer from FX

FX has shared a trailer for American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez, the new anthology series from Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story).

Based on the The Boston Globe and Wondery’s podcast Gladiator: Aaron Hernandez and Football Inc., the series explores the story of former NFL player Hernandez (played by Josh Andrés Rivera) across his family background and career to his murder conviction and death in prison. Watch the trailer below…

The first installment of FX’s American Sports Story is based on the podcast Gladiator: Aaron Hernandez and Football Inc. from The Boston Globe and Wondery. The 10-episode limited series charts the rise and fall of NFL superstar Aaron Hernandez and explores the disparate strands of his identity, his family, his career, his suicide and their legacy in sports and American culture.

The series also stars Patrick Schwarzenegger as Tim Tebow, Lindsay Mendez as Tanya Singleton, Jaylen Barron as Shayanna Jenkins, Ean Castellanos as DJ Hernandez, Tammy Blanchard as Terri Hernandez, and Norbert Leo Butz as Bill Belichick.

American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez premieres on FX on September 17th.
