Farm in a zombie apocalypse with The Last Farmer

October 24, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Midnight Games has announced the release of their new zombie apocalypse survival game The Last Farmer on Steam.  As the world lays rotting in hordes of undead, The Last Farmer challenges players to create haven of life in a small part of Texas and keep away the zombies.

Set in the forgotten reaches of Texas, The Last Farmer will task players with surviving the zombie apocalypse with the primary means of survival being their farm, which they must build and develop.  There are plenty of dangers in the world, with the main one being zombies.  Zombies range from the slow and clumsy to the fast and deadly, but even these can prove useful by mulching them up into fertiliser for the farm.  It’s not all crops though, there will also be livestock that players will need to manage.

Farming isn’t possible without the right tools, so it will be vital for players to craft tools for the farm and also firearms for defending it.  Players will even be able to scavenge for parts that will allow them to construct a car, this can serve as a weapon, a place for storing loot, a way of easily exploring the land for resources and a place to chill out in at night and listen to the radio.

The player isn’t the only survivor and preparations must be made for facing corrupt military forces, whose motives are questionable. Sometimes they will provide help but more often than not just create a new challenge for players to overcome.

The Last Farmer is available on Steam now and currently has a limited time discount available.
