Psychological horror Threshold comes to Steam

November 20, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Critical Reflex and solo developer Julien Eveillé have announced the release of Threshold on Steam, a psychological horror that takes players to a dilapidated border post in the mountains.  Watch the new trailer below to find out what your job at this station will entail.

In Threshold, players go high in the mountains to a decaying border post station where a near endless train thunders past. Their job in this high altitude region is to simply blow a whistle to keep the train on schedule, complete minor tasks and to never look inside the train.  However, the air is very thin and everything from blowing the whistle to completing tasks involves using up the oxygen rations.  Perform the job well and be rewarded with more oxygen.

As well as blowing the whistle, there are always a variety of little jobs that need to be done to occupy the time, these include delivering reports, cleaning out the water filter and collecting waste wood from around the outpost.  If players need any assistance they can also call for Mo, their fellow worker.  Mo will come running if needed and help with almost anything to lead players through the semi-linear storyline.

Threshold is available now on Steam now, with a 10% limited time discount available until 26th November.
