Elizabeth Olsen joins Julia Roberts in Sam Esmail thriller Panic Carefully

December 6, 2024 by Ricky Church

Marvel alum Elizabeth Olsen is set to star opposite Julia Roberts in Panic Carefully, a paranoid thriller from Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail. Per Deadline, the film will be produced and distributed by Warner Bros. from a script Esmail wrote.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but Panic Carefully is described as a paranoid thriller that is a cross between Mr. Robot and Silence of the Lambs.

This will mark the second time Roberts and Esmail have worked together after she starred last year in Esmail’s other paranoid thriller Leave The World Behind. Esmail and Roberts will produce the film together.

Olsen is coming off her recent Netflix feature His Three Daughters, which she starred alongside Carrie Coon and Natasha Lyonne, and the TIFF feature The Assessment. She’s best known for her role as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a role she last played in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness and is rumoured to return to in future Marvel films.

Producing with Esmail and and Roberts are Chad Hamilton for Email Corp. and Scott Stuber, Marisa Yeres Gill and Lisa Gillan. Filming will begin in January in the UK.
