The Last of Us season 2 teaser trailer announces April return

January 7, 2025 by Ricky Church

HBO has released a new teaser for the highly anticipated second season of The Last of Us, which will premiere in April. A specific date has not been revealed, but we now know it won’t be long until we see Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay grace our TV screens as Joel and Ellie again.

The season is based upon The Last of Us Part II, the sequel to the original game which takes place several years later as Joel and Ellie have made a home in a safe and isolated community. The teaser also gives us a new look at Kaitlyn Dever’s Abby, a mysterious figure who tells someone “it doesn’t matter if you have a code like me. There are just some things everyone agrees are just wrong.” Watch the teaser below…

After five years of peace following the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie’s collective past catches up to them, drawing them into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.

The Last of Us season two sees Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey return as Joel and Ellie alongside Diego Luna as Tommy. Newcomers include Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, Danny Ramirez as Manny, and Jeffrey Wright as Isaac. Catherine O’Hara also guest stars.

The Last of Us season two will premiere in April.
