Trailer for “raunchy and gory” public domain slasher Popeye’s Revenge

January 12, 2025 by Gary Collinson

Popeye the Sailor Man entered the public domain this month, and so just as we saw with Mickey Mouse last year, we’re braced for an influx of horror movies featuring the now-free-to-use children’s character.

We’ve had trailers for Popeye the Slayer Man and Shiver Me Timbers, but looking to beat both of those to the punch is ITN Studios, the distributor behind Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, which has just unveiled the trailer for its own “raunchy and gory” slasher Popeye’s Revenge, said to be releasing some time this month. Take a look at the poster and trailer below courtesy of Bloody Disgusting…

The legend of Popeye haunts a group of councilors as they intend to open a summer camp.

Popeye’s Revenge is expected to release in January 2025.
