Little Lighthouse of Horror to bring 2D pixel art psychological horror to Steam

January 18, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Level Up Games Studio and publishers Troglobytes Games have revealed that their atmospheric, 2D psychological horror, Little Lighthouse of Horror, will be launching on Steam on 28th January.  Inspired by the eerie, true story of the Flannan Isles, this pixel art title will have players carry out the functions of a lighthouse keeper, manage their food and tiredness and handle the psychological toll that isolation takes.  Watch the new trailer below….

In Little Lighthouse of Horror the last caretaker of the local lighthouse mysteriously vanished and Lawrence has been selected to take over as the new lighthouse keeper.  Taking the role of Lawrence, players must maintain the light shining out to sea, while facing the growing fears and unexplained phenomena that creeps around the isolated lighthouse.  Ensure Lawrence survives his job by balancing his mental and physical health of the isolation on the island.

The lighthouse hides dark secrets that weave into Lawrence’s own memories.  In a world where every decision can bring risk to Lawrence’s sanity, can players discover the secrets that the lighthouse holds and what happened to the previous keepers?

Featuring:

  • Resource management – manage Lawrence’s limited food and drink supply, as well as the necessary oils and parts that the lighthouse requires.
  • Sanity system – Protect Lawrence from the insanity of every strange occurrence.
  • A tense atmosphere with 1920’s scenery and haunting audio.
  • A short story with multiple endings – Every decision makes a difference and its own unique journey through the story.
  • Explore the different floors of the lighthouse and overcome the challenges and tasks that each presents.
  • Endure the storms and fogs that make the job harder and more dangerous.
  • Meet the rare visitors to the island and overcome unexpected challenges.

Little Lighthouse of Horror arrives on Steam on 28th January, and is available to wishlist now.
