The Office’s Oscar Nuñez to appear in spin-off The Paper

March 2, 2025 by Ricky Church

With NBC’s streaming service Peacock getting ready for The Paper, a spin-off of the popular comedy The Office, news has one of one of the series’ original stars set to make an appearance in the new show.

Oscar Nuñez will reprise his role as Oscar Martinez, an accountant for Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton Branch, after starring in all 9 seasons of the US remake of The Office. When audiences last saw Oscar in the series finale, he was running for a state senate seat and named godfather to Dwight and Angela’s son.

The Paper will “follow the employees of a faltering local newspaper in the Midwest who are being filmed by the same documentary crew that captured Dunder Mifflin’s antics in the original show.”

The series will be led by Domhnall Gleeson (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) with Melvin Gregg (Nine Perfect Strangers), Chelsea Frei (Poker Face) and Ramona Young (Never Have I Ever) also starring. The series will also feature Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, and Tim Key, Eric Rahill, Duane Shepard Sr., Allan Havey, Nate Jackson, Mo Welch, Nancy Lenehan, Molly Ephraim, and Tracy Letts.

What do you think of Nuñez appearing in The Paper? Are there other Office characters you’d like to return? Let us know on our social channels at @FlickeringMyth…
